Lowe posts maiden century
Date of Event SACA Premier Cricket: Mon Oct 29, 2018 3:56PM

A captain’s ton from Kensington’s Sarah Lowe guided her side to a comprehensive win over Southern District on Sunday.

Lowe’s maiden Statewide Super First Grade century (109 off 115 balls) was strongly supported by Eliza Doddridge (52) and Katelyn Pope (62), who reached her highest batting total since playing in the competition.

Southern District’s Kelly Armstrong (47) and Jess O’Reilly (37) did all they could in reply to Kensington’s 5/308, however still fell a whopping 127 runs short.

The Browns’ Bella Smith starred with the ball, taking 4/42.

Another solid batting performance from Northern Districts, featuring Statewide Super SA Scorpions trio Tegan McPharlin (74), Tabatha Saville (92) and Samantha Betts (44) kept the Jets in top position on the ladder.

West Torrens Ellie Falconer (3/42), Kayla McGrath (3/42) and Emily Hinze (3/36) took three wickets each, but with Tahlia McGrath notably absent due to Australia A duties, the Eagles struggled to gain any real batting momentum.

Captain Jess Joseph top-scored for her side with 24, but the Eagles were dismissed inside 30 overs, with Jets veteran Neisha Iles the pick of the bowlers (3/2 from three overs).

Port Adelaide forfeited their match, giving Sturt the points.
